This program draws on the cultural richness of the ancient world to combine academic rigour with subject matter that is both personally engaging and relevant for any field of study. Focuses on the Greek love affair with life (the quest for ideals of beauty, truth and justice) and the Roman sense of destiny and imperial greatness (the unceasing struggle against the forces of barbarism).First-year courses include the civilizations of Greece and Rome and introductory Greek and/or Latin language. Immerses students in the art, literature, history and culture of the ancient world.
