Program Overview

As a history student, you will develop sharpened critical thinking and writing skills, while learning about the study of history itself and how it has changed over time. Choose from a diverse array of course offerings from North American, European, Latin American, Middle Eastern and African history, as well as women s history, Aboriginal history, African-American/Canadian, Atlantic World, the Renaissance, military history, history on film, and popular culture, among others. If you are interested in applying historical skills to the workplace, you could take some courses that focus in digital history, history on the web, and public history. In fourth year, you could do an internship with a local museum or heritage organization. The faculty members are highly respected scholars and innovative teachers who care about student success. Our smaller class-sizes mean you can get to know your professors and fellow students. We offer a mentorship program to help you ease into university life and exciting opportunities to develop skills in digital formats and pursue community internships.
