The occupational therapist is a health professional who, through his or her interventions, aims to develop, adapt, maintain and update the potential of individuals to carry out activities that are meaningful to them in their real-life context. For example, the occupational therapist plans, implements and supervises programs of activities for persons with a physical or mental disability, permanent or temporary, with a view to improving their day-to-day independence and facilitating their social integration.
