BSc Biology

VIU's BSc Biology program is very experiential, delivering to students a combination of hands-on lab training, field research, and direct exposure to top research institutions. The low class sizes foster close mentorship, and the coursework is intended to engage students in experiential learning in actual settings. Students are exposed to renowned research centers such as the Applied Environmental Research Laboratories (AERL), Centre for Shellfish Research, Centre for Coastal Health, Pacific Biological Station (PBS), and the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre.
