The Institute of Chinese And Applied Linguistics, Chinese Institute of Foreign Studies and Linguistics of Peking University, is a teaching and research entity established in 2010. Teachers are mainly from English majors and will be extended to other languages in the future. At present, there are 1 professor, 2 associate professors and 2 assistant professors in all formal languages, and 3 professors and 2 associate professors in the English Department enrolled under the foreign Chinese language and applied linguistics disciplines. In 2011, the Institute of Languages began Chinese ph.D. and master's degrees in dialectics and applied linguistics.
