The Department of International Economics and Trade was established in 1985 as a successor of the International Economics Major which was established in 1958. The department aims at training professionals with good understanding of economic theory, strong language skills, and solid knowledge of both international economic theory and practice to meet the needs of China s further reform in the globalization era. Our graduates are able to conduct economic analysis and project planning in foreign-related sectors of government and financial institutions. They can engage in decision-making, consulting and managing in various foreign enterprises and multinational companies. They can also pursue a career in colleges, universities and research institutes.
