Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Students begin by developing the scientific foundations needed for pharmacy through subjects such as Medical Biology, General Chemistry for Pharmacy, Anatomy-Physiology I, Organic Chemistry and Introduction to Pharmacy. They also strengthen their academic and communication abilities through courses such as Reading and Writing Skills-I and Reading and Writing Skills-II.

Year 2: Students move into more specialised pharmaceutical and health sciences, studying subjects such as Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Microbiology, Pharmacy Practice and Pathology. These courses help students understand laboratory analysis, microorganisms, diseases and the practical responsibilities involved in pharmacy.

Year 3: Students develop a deeper understanding of medicines through subjects including Pharmacognosy-II, Pharmaceutical Chemistry-III, Pharmaceutical Technology-III and Pharmaceutical Toxicology-I. They explore natural medicines, drug chemistry, pharmaceutical formulations and the effects that medicines and other substances can have on the body.

Year 4: The focus becomes more professional, with subjects such as Pharmacology II, Deontology and Ethics and specialist electives. Students learn more about medicines used for different health conditions while also developing an understanding of professional responsibilities, ethical decision-making and pharmacy practice.

Year 5: The final year brings together the knowledge and skills gained throughout the programme through practical experience and research. Students complete Internship-III, Community and Hospital Pharmacy Services and Graduation Project-I and II, giving them opportunities to gain real-world pharmacy experience and carry out independent research.
