The goal of the field of study is to educate technically educated experts at the bachelor's level with sufficient foundations in mathematics and natural sciences. Their possible work classification is in multidisciplinary teams oriented towards development and research in the fields of biomaterial engineering. In particular, it concerns the development and testing of new materials or means for medical applications. With a high-quality natural science foundation and mastery of basic knowledge related to biomedical engineering, it is also possible to have a good understanding of the interactions between biomaterials and biological systems and to test materials for various uses in medicine. The study program provides an interdisciplinary view and approach to solving current problems in the field of development and testing of biomaterials, especially for tissue engineering, systems for controlled drug delivery, wound coverings, etc.
