Program Overview

The Bachelor's degree program Industrial Design in Engineering combines theory, skills and practice in the field of industrial design. The program prepares students to design mass-produced products with an emphasis on functional, aesthetic, technical, ergonomic and safety qualities. The basis of the study is profiled technical and professional subjects together with professional skills and knowledge within wider social and environmental contexts. The teaching is based on traditional design procedures as well as on the possibilities of progressive technologies. It develops a comprehensive approach to design solutions as a continuous process from concept to presentation of the design through visualizations, animations and model documentation.
