Masaryk University

Program Overview

The field Norwegian language, literature and culture is a philological study with interdisciplinary overlaps with campus studies. the necessary starting point is a practical mastery of the Norwegian language, supplemented by linguistic disciplines (morphology, lexicology) and practical application of language knowledge in practice (conversation, literary analysis, current social issues). The study concept focuses on gaining an overview and acquiring detailed knowledge of Norwegian culture, literature, history and contemporary society. An important part of the field are Norwegian-Czech relations in the literary, cultural, economic and political fields, both in historical and contemporary perspectives. We consider the Scandinavian, but also the European and bilateral dimension to be an important aspect. The outcome of the study program is the integration of knowledge and the growth of the student's personality, the development of experience and communication skills.
