Bachelors in Computational and applied mathematics

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Technical University of Ostrava

Program Overview

The study program perfectly combines mathematics with informatics with an emphasis on its applications. By studying different areas of mathematics (mathematical analysis, numerical methods, statistics or discrete mathematics), students deepen their logical reasoning and creative thinking. Informatics will then help with understanding the essence of algorithms used in computing systems and modern technologies. Students will learn not to be afraid of complex tasks and will acquire the ability to break down real problems into sub-parts, solve them and obtain a solution to the original problem by correct composition. Later, they will be able to create mathematical models describing the world around us, for example the flow of air around airplane wings or car bodies.
