The bachelor's program in Chemistry with a focus on education for secondary schools is the first level of study necessary to obtain the qualification (Mgr.) of a secondary school chemistry teacher. In addition to chemistry, students enroll in a second approval field, which they study at the same time as chemistry. Within the P F JU, they can study a combination of chemistry with biology, physics, mathematics and informatics.

Biology is a very rich field, which in the current modern concept combines classic research methods with the latest trends in the field of molecular biology, computer data and image processing, or completely new microscopic techniques. At the Faculty of Natural Sciences, thanks to high-quality equipment, we have the opportunity to study organisms and their relationships in detail and comprehensively, whether it is describing the migration routes of Svalbard's terns using geolocators, revealing the principle of operation of various pathogens in the saliva of ticks, or monitoring the progress of bark beetle calamity using thermal cameras carried by drones
