Program Overview

The interdisciplinary bachelor's degree program is focused on the historical development and diversity of cultures of the Middle East and North Africa region from ancient times to the present with an emphasis on modern and contemporary societies and states. Students will develop an extensive body of factual knowledge about past and present Middle Eastern cultures and understand various cultural elements or patterns and their development. The optional subjects of the profiling foundation allow you to pursue a deeper knowledge in one of the three specialization units, Islam, Judaism and the ancient religions of the Near East.
