Additional Information & Requirements

The Bachelor’s programme in Construction is conducted at VIA University College, primarily at its campus in Horsens, Denmark.
Applicants must have completed one of the following qualifications: an upper secondary school leaving certificate/high school examination, the International Baccalaureate (IB), or the European Baccalaureate (EB).
Alternatively, applicants may qualify through the Danish Admission Course for Engineering Programmes or a relevant vocational education, including a 3-year vocational education as defined in the Ministerial Order on Admission to Academy Profession and Professional Bachelor Programmes (Denmark).
Applicants must have a minimum C-level in Mathematics (equivalent to 125 instructional hours of 60 minutes each). Each required subject must be passed with a minimum average of 2.0 on the Danish grading scale, and the required instructional hours must have been completed within the last three years of upper secondary education.
For applicants with a 3-year vocational education, a C-level in English (75 instructional hours of 60 minutes each) is also required. Non-Danish applicants must submit their original exam certificate, transcript of records, and a state-authorized translation of the transcript in either Danish or English.
Applicants must meet English language requirements through IELTS (Academic) or IELTS Online with a minimum overall score of 6.5, or TOEFL iBT (including Home Edition) with a minimum score of 94 for tests taken before 21 January 2026; for TOEFL tests taken after this date, a minimum score of 4.5 is required.
Alternatively, TOEFL Paper-based test scores are accepted with minimum section requirements of Reading 19–23, Listening 20–23, Writing 24–26, and Speaking 20–22.
IB Diploma or IB DP/Course Results are accepted for admission, provided at least grade 3 in all 6 subjects including 3 Higher Level subjects; the IB Diploma also meets the minimum requirement for Danish undergraduate programmes.
Applicants from England, Wales, and Northern Ireland are eligible if they have at least 9 GCSE/AS/A-level subjects including a minimum of 3 A-levels (or equivalent combinations), or Cambridge Pre-U with at least 3 Principal Subjects and a total of 9 subjects including GCSEs; alternative AS/A-level combinations are also accepted as long as minimum subject requirements are met.
Scottish Certificate of Secondary Education / Scottish Qualifications Certificate or similar document showing at least 5 Scottish Higher Level subjects, grade C or higher (from 2004 grade D or higher). Mathematics and one language subject are compulsory.
