Program Overview

Students have numerous opportunities to explore the spectrum of artistic training from old to contemporary music and to develop individually artistically and personally.Interdisciplinary projects, workshops, lectures, summer academies and cooperation with other institutions and universities complete the courses on offer. This enrichment creates a platform on which students can not only perfect their art, but also try out many things, exchange creative ideas and put themselves to the test. Educating musicians to become holistic, excellent and professional artists is the declared aim of our deans' offices

AEC study application form, School Leaving Certificates and Transcripts, learning agreement, transcript of records, short Curriculum Vitae, motivation letter, recommendation letter, recording or proof of work, German Language Proficiency:Applicants from non-German-speaking countries must demonstrate good knowledge of the German language at level B 2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages as a prerequisite for admission to a bachelors in addition to proof of artistic and scientific qualifications, Language certificate of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages from B2 upwards, Goethe Institute, Central upper level examination ZOP, Small German Language Diploma KDS, Great German Language Diploma GDS, TestDaF German as a foreign language - level 3, German language test for university admission for foreign applicants Level DSH Level I The University of Music and Theater Hamburg does not offer a DSH test, German language diploma of the Conference of Ministers of Education - DSD Level I
