Bachelors in General Engineering Medical Engineering

42 Months On Campus Bachelors Program

Hamburg University of Technology

Program Overview

The demands on the healthcare system are constantly increasing due to the aging and increased life expectancy of the population. Here, mechanization is of great importance. This refers both to individual implants and aids and to large devices for diagnostics and therapy. Medical and engineering specialists will have to work together more and more closely in the future in order to meet the new requirements. However, this also means that these fundamentally different disciplines must be able to understand the basics of the problems of the "other" discipline. This requires basic knowledge. For the engineers this means that, in addition to the engineering-specific basics, they must also understand and be able to influence medical and business aspects of patient care, project management, development and research. In order to achieve the objectives of the degree program, the content in the three areas each accounts for about 1/3 of the specialization
