BSc Geosciences

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Bremen

Program Overview

The geosciences deal with the earth system. Processes occurring on the surface and in the interior of the earth may have occurred in the deep geological past, but survive to this day as rock formations, fossils, or usable deposits. Current geoprocesses affect us in many ways: they preserve habitats through the formation of new nutrients, soil and groundwater, but they can also cause major damage as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or storms. The earth offers almost inexhaustible sources of energy wind, radiation, geothermal energy, but many mineral and fossil raw materials will be exhausted in the near future. In climate research, knowledge of the past creates a detailed understanding of all elements of the climate system in order to predict the consequences of current climate change.
