What functions does the human language have And which characteristics distinguish different languages These are just a few questions whose answers the students develop in the bachelor program General Linguistics . The program provides basic knowledge in the most important problems and solutions to problems in the subject, in linguistic terminology and in the methods used. Obligatory are courses in phonology, morphology (morphology) and syntax (sentence theory). The focus of the Hamburg program is on non-Indo-European languages (such as Ural, African, Asian, etc.) and in languages that are not taught in German schools.
