Program Overview

Romance Studies deals with the languages, literatures and cultures of the Romansh-speaking world as it developed in parts of Europe (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Romania) as a legacy of the Roman Empire and as a result of colonization also on other continents.Research and teaching have focused on the French languages, cultures and literatures since the Renaissance, with particular interest in the 20th century to the present.French is offered as a core and minor subject in the 2-subject bachelor's degree in Romance Studies/One Language and must be combined with another subject.

Additional Information & Requirements

French language skills must be proven for admission: either by an average score of 8 points (advanced course) or 11 points (basic course) in the course phase of the upper secondary school or by a recognized language test (DELF diploma). The deepening of French language skills is part of the course.
