Program Overview

The German studies course at the University of Osnabr ck is divided into the areas of literature and linguistics and covers the entire spectrum of German literature and language. The focus is on epochs of German literature and genre theory, children's and young people's literature, text interpretation, grammatical structures of German, spelling, first and second language acquisition, literature from the Middle Ages (medieval studies) and the early modern period. The didactics of German should also be emphasized.The subject German Studies is offered as a core and minor subject as part of the 2-subject bachelor's degree program and must be combined with another subject.
