Program Overview

Semitic studies focus on the languages and literatures as well as the history and culture of the Semitic peoples. The study begins with the learning of two Semitic languages: first Akkadian or Arabic, then Hebrew. Semitics deals on the one hand with linguistic questions of the Semitic language, especially on comparative studies, and on the other with the history, cultures and religions of the individual Semitic peoples.
