Mathematical Biometry is an innovative and relatively young study programme which is hard to find elsewhere in Germany. This pathway teaches knowledge in the areas of mathematics, statistics and life sciences, all of which are needed for the planning, implementation and evaluation of medical, epidemiological and pharmaceutical studies. Skilled practitioners obviously need to have good command of the necessary mathematical and statistical methods, but also need to have sufficient basic medical and biological knowledge and be able to practically apply their knowledge with the help of modern information technology.
