Program Overview

The concept for this degree program arose from one of the focal research areas of the departments of chemistry and physics at the Institute for Integrated Natural Sciences of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Both departments work on an interdisciplinary basis in the field of material properties and functional surfaces and are part of the Rhineland-Palatinate's Metal - Ceramic - Plastic regional innovation cluster. The research topics addressed in this context relate to materials science and are characterized by the high-level combination of chemical and physical aspects.

Additional Information & Requirements

General university entrance qualification German Abitur or an equivalent recognized qualification, Students are expected to have Level B2 English skills, Highschool degree that is recognized to be equivalent to the German Abitur. Additionally, you have to pass a language test, prove English skills by a TOEFL or IELTS test, English language skills are required at the level of B2, which means that a TOEFL result of 550 paper based / 213 computer based / 79 - 80 internet based, a IELTS 6,5 points, or higher are mandatory, German programs require German language skills DSH, level 2 or TestDAF, level 4 - a Goethe certificate or other language tests
