"The academic study of the Islamic religion is the core of the ""Islamic Theology"" course. The University of Osnabr ck offers the opportunity to do this for the first time in Germany. The main content of the course is the fundamentals of Islam, the study of the Koran and the tradition of the Prophets, the history of Islam and Islamic jurisprudence. Arabic is taught to enable the students to deal with the main Islamic sources, the Koran and Sunna, in the original language.The subject ""Islamic Theology"" is offered as a core and minor subject and can be combined with another subject."
