Program Overview

"The bachelor's degree in ""Islamic Theology"" at the University of Osnabr ck offers the opportunity for the first time in Germany to examine the Muslim religion scientifically. The main content of the course is the fundamentals of Islam, the study of the Koran and the tradition of the Prophets, as well as Islamic jurisprudence and its methodology. In addition, classical Arabic and didactic and interreligious skills are taught. Other focal points are comparative studies (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) as well as the theoretical and empirical analysis of Islam in Germany and Europe in the historical and modern context.During the course of study, a two- to four-week internship must be completed. The various institutions of Muslim life in Germany are ideal for this."
