Theology deals with the history and present of Christianity. It is divided into biblical theology (Old Testament and New Testament), historical theology (church history), systematic theology (dogmatics and ethics) and practical theology (religious education, sermon teaching, pastoral care). Protestant theology places particular emphasis on the Reformation and the theology of the Reformation, as well as on the theology that was developed in modern times on a Reformation basis, and on the history of the churches of the Reformation.What should be emphasized at the University of Osnabr ck is the occupation with foreign religions (Judaism, Islam), the cooperation with Catholic theology and with Islamic religious education and the discussion of religious education and subject-related didactic questions.The subject of Protestant theology is offered as a major, core subject or subsidiary subject as part of the 2-subject bachelor's program and can be combined with another subject.
