3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Hamburg

Program Overview

With the introduction of the bachelor's program Catholic Theology as a minor subject, the already existing offer will be extended, with which Catholic Theology within the study program Teacher of Primary and Secondary Education can be chosen as a subject. The study takes place at the Institute for Catholic Theology of the University of Hamburg, which was founded in 2014. It has a distinctive ecumenical profile and a focus on inter-religious dialogue. The students also benefit from the conditions and circumstances that Hamburg offers as a multi-religious and cultural city. The Catholic faith and the phenomena of the present are repeatedly brought into conversation with one another throughout the course of the study - in dialogue, in particular, with Protestant theology and other theologies at the University of Hamburg as well as with other humanities disciplines. The bachelor's program in Catholic theology is about pursuing the Christian tradition from the beginning to the present, understanding it and bringing it into its own terms.
