Catholic theology is the science of the Christian faith. The focus is on the argumentative-critical reflection of the Christian faith in God and its relevance for the thinking, life and actions of people in history and the present. The students acquire biblical-historical, systematic-theological and practical-theological skills.The subject of Catholic theology is offered as a core and minor subject and must be combined with another subject.Research focuses on the Jewish-Christian dialogue, biblical hermeneutics, ecumenical and intercultural theology, bioethics and environmental ethics, in the area of religious socialization, upbringing and education, religious development in the second half of life and in selected fields of religious education.
