Inclusion is an important keyword in today's society; In order to enable the deaf and hearing impaired to live in the center of society, the training of interpreters is essential. The bachelor's degree program in Sign Language Interpretation provides not only solid knowledge of German Sign Language (DGS), but also practical interpreting competence in the German and DGS languages. Further study goals include the acquisition of translation-related specialist knowledge, knowledge of sign languages and deaf communities as well as the acquisition of the scientific competence to critically re fl ect these specialist knowledge.
