Program Overview

As a transdisciplinary science, geography represents an interface between the natural and social sciences. On the one hand, geographers examine the spatial structure, development and changes in the physical properties of the earth's surface and, on the other hand, they deal with how people interact with their environment economically, socially and politically forms.The courses offered in Osnabr ck focus on physical geography, human geography (economic and social geography), applied and regional geography and geography didactics. In teaching and research, above all, questions of society-environment relationships in different spaces and times as well as urban and regional development are considered. In addition, good methodical training and the systematic teaching of key competencies are the subject of all sub-areas.The subject of geography is offered as a major, core and minor subject as part of the 2-subject bachelor's program and must be combined with another subject.
