3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
The BSc in Wildlife Management Engineering prepares students to become professionals who can sustainably manage wildlife populations, conserve natural habitats, and support biodiversity through scientific and practical approaches. Designed for students passionate about wildlife, ecology, conservation, and hunting management, the program combines biological sciences, environmental management, engineering principles, and extensive field-based learning while providing an international perspective through European exchange opportunities.
Location: Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), Károly Róbert Campus, Gyöngyös, Hungary (main delivery site; part of MATE’s multi-campus system).
Curriculum Structure
Year 1
The first year builds a strong scientific foundation in biology, ecology, and environmental sciences while introducing students to the principles of wildlife management. Students study core subjects such as General Zoology, Botany, and Ecology, alongside basic agricultural and natural resource management concepts that prepare them for advanced professional courses.
Year 2
During the second year, students develop specialist knowledge of wildlife populations and their habitats through courses including Wildlife Biology, Game Management, and Nature Conservation. Practical field exercises and habitat assessment activities help students apply ecological principles to real wildlife management situations.
Year 3
The third year focuses on professional wildlife engineering skills through modules such as Wildlife Protection, Hunting Management, and Natural Resource Management. Students gain experience in planning wildlife conservation strategies, applying environmental regulations, and participating in practical field training with industry and conservation partners.
Final Semester
The final semester emphasizes professional practice through an extended internship, field placement, and a Bachelor's Thesis. Students integrate scientific knowledge with practical experience by completing independent projects that address real-world wildlife management and conservation challenges.
Focus Areas
Wildlife Biology, Game Management, Hunting Management, Nature Conservation, Ecology, Habitat Management, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Protection, Sustainable Wildlife Utilization.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates are able to plan and manage wildlife populations, conserve natural habitats, implement wildlife protection measures, organize hunting tourism, apply environmental legislation, conduct ecological assessments, and support sustainable management of renewable natural resources using modern scientific and management techniques.
