Program Overview

The purpose of the degree is to train humanities majors in ethnography who know the basics of ethnography, European ethnology, and cultural anthropology. The goal is also to train specialists who understand their own culture and that of others, who are able to shape the cultural identity of narrower and wider communities, and who are tolerant towards the culture of others, who are skilled in cultural research and cultural anthropology, who are able to understand and interpret the operational peculiarities of culture in the past and in the present. In addition to the theoretical knowledge of folkloristics, they have knowledge of ethnographic collection and museological practices, data management, archiving methods and field research
