Year 1
In the first year, students develop a solid foundation in architectural design and communication through Detail and Design Studio 1, Architectural Technology and Services 1, and Computer Aided Design (CAD) 1. Modules such as Construction Materials, Architectural Graphics and Communication, and History of Western Architecture introduce how buildings are conceived, represented, and constructed. The focus is on building confidence in drawing, modelling, and understanding basic construction principles.

Year 2
Second year builds technical depth and analytical thinking with Detail and Design Studio 2, Building Information Modelling (BIM) 2, and Structural Element Design. Students also study Building Surveying and History and Conservation of Irish Architecture, helping them understand both modern construction systems and traditional building methods. This year strengthens problem-solving skills and prepares students for more complex design and detailing work.

Year 3
In the final year, students bring together design, technology, and professional knowledge through modules such as Advanced Architectural Technologies, Environmental Building Systems, and BIM 3. A structured Work Placement provides valuable industry experience, while Professional Practice and Law ensures graduates understand regulations, contracts, and professional responsibilities. The emphasis is on producing technically sound, sustainable architectural solutions aligned with industry expectations.
