Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Developmental Stage

In the first year, students build a solid foundation in creative media through modules such as Audio Tech & Techniques, Principles: Light, Camera, Photography, Digital Photography, and Video Editing Fundamentals. Alongside practical skills, subjects like The Moving Image and Writing for Screen Media introduce students to media analysis, storytelling, and the cultural role of film and visual media.

Year 2: Competent Stage

The second year develops technical confidence and creative independence through modules including Cinematography 1 & 2, Scriptwriting and Development 1 & 2, VFX Fundamentals, and Audio for Film & Screen. Students also study Contemporary Film and Television and Project Management for Creative Media Outputs, strengthening their ability to collaborate, plan, and deliver more advanced creative projects.

Year 3: Advanced Stage

In the final year, students refine their creative voice and professional skills through modules such as Screen Theory & Criticism, Transmedia – Theory and Practice, Digital Artefact Creation, and Professional Practice: Budgeting & Scheduling. A major Dissertation, industry engagement opportunities, and study of Generative AI in Film & Creative Media allow students to graduate with a strong portfolio and industry-ready mindset.
