Our program is built on the philosophy of "Creative Re-use," and we provide you with a high-spec environment to test your most ambitious ideas:

• Dedicated Individual Studio Space: Unlike many programs where you share a "hot desk," every student here is provided with their own dedicated studio space accessible throughout the week, fostering a true professional design culture.

• Industry-Leading Software Mastery: You will become a power-user of the tools that drive the industry, specifically AutoCAD for precise technical drafting, SketchUp for 3D conceptual modeling, and Revit for high-level Building Information Modelling (BIM).

• Creative Hub for Arts & Design: You’ll have full access to our brand-new, state-of-the-art Creative Hub, which includes dedicated Apple Mac computer labs and specialized printing and plotting services for professional-grade design portfolios.

• Professional Work Placements: In Year 3, you have the opportunity to step out of the classroom and into the industry with an optional work placement, or even spend a semester studying abroad through the Erasmus+ program.

• The Yeats Library: A world-class facility with over 700 workspaces and a massive collection of architectural journals and digital e-books, perfect for the deep research required for your final-year design thesis.

• Hands-on Workshops: You aren't limited to digital work; you’ll have access to fully equipped carpentry and model-making workshops to bring your spatial concepts to life in 3D.

• Real-World Client Projects: We regularly collaborate with local community groups and real clients, giving you the chance to solve authentic design problems that have a tangible impact on the Sligo region.

• International Field Trips: Every year, our students embark on field trips to major European cities to study landmark architecture and interior heritage first-hand, bridging the gap between theory and global reality.

• Collaborative Design "Live" Projects: You’ll participate in cross-disciplinary projects within the Yeats Academy, working alongside students from Fine Art or Creative Design to simulate the multidisciplinary teams found in modern architectural practices.

You could progress into our MA in Creative Practice, which allows you to focus on a specific niche like sustainable heritage or advanced digital fabrication. Other graduates choose to move into specialized Level 9 programs such as Masters in Environmental Design, Project Management, or even transition into our full Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) if they decide to pursue a career as a registered architect.
