Program Overview

The BA (Hons) in Business (Law) at DBS integrates core business competencies with in-depth knowledge of Irish and European law. This interdisciplinary degree is ideal for students seeking careers at the intersection of business and law or those considering professional legal qualifications. Students benefit from a robust legal curriculum alongside strategic business education, fostering both commercial awareness and legal reasoning.

  • Combines business fundamentals with specialist law modules

  • Prepares students for roles in legal administration, compliance, HR, and paralegal support

  • Teaching and Assessment: Primarily taught through lectures and tutorials, with students responsible for large amounts of study outside of planned class contact hours. Essays and reports, individual and group assignments, and formal tests are all examples of assessment methods. The bulk of disciplines are assessed via a combination of coursework and exams.

  • Year 1: Maths and Stats for Business, IT Essentials, Economic Perspectives, Introduction to Business Finance

  • Year 2: Management, Financial Management, Principles of Business Law, Employee Relations and the Law

  • Year 3: Strategic Management, Advanced Business and Commerical Law, Corporate Law and Governance, Capstone Project
