Curriculum Structure
Year 1 – Foundation in Engineering
In your first year, you’ll build a strong base across engineering fundamentals, including mathematics, physics, introductory programming, and engineering science, along with hands-on design and project work that develops practical problem-solving skills. This enables you to confidently move into core engineering challenges later in the degree.
Year 2 – Core Engineering Skills
Your second year continues the common engineering programme, deepening your understanding of topics such as thermo-fluids, solids and structures, electronics, and computer-aided engineering, while giving you more opportunities to work on group design-build projects. This broad base ensures you’re ready to specialise in your chosen engineering discipline.
Year 3 – Specialization Begins
In Junior Sophister (third) year, you begin focused study in Computer Engineering. You’ll take core modules like Engineering Mathematics, Signals and Systems, Digital Circuits, Microprocessor Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Operating Systems, developing both your hardware and software expertise.
Year 4 – Advanced Topics & Project
Fourth year builds your specialist knowledge further with modules such as Management for Engineers, Research Methods, Information Management, Security & Privacy, and a choice of options like Computer Architecture, Computer Graphics or Deep Learning. You’ll also work on a capstone project that demonstrates your engineering expertise and creativity.
Year 5 – (Optional) Integrated Master’s
If you choose the five-year route leading to the MAI, you’ll spend part of the year on a professional internship with leading tech companies or research labs, and the rest on advanced master’s-level modules such as Machine Learning, Fuzzy Logic, Formal Verification or Knowledge & Data Engineering, culminating in a research dissertation tailored to your interests.

Placements generally run January–July/August, and students produce reports and presentations that connect their academic learning with their industry experience.
