The European School of Physiotherapy (ESP) programme is held on campus at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS/HvA), Faculty of Health, in Amsterdam, Netherlands
The university requires completed secondary education equivalent to the Dutch VWO level and strong written and verbal English communications skills, with applicants also expected to have a background in biology, physics, maths and chemistry.
Only 100 places are available and selection includes an interview and written exam.
English language proficiency of a 6.5 score or higher on the IELTS test is required; other tests such as TOEFL iBT are generally accepted by AUAS too, with an estimated minimum of around 80
Applicants are estimated to need at least 3 A-levels (typically grades A-C, including a science subject) or equivalent Scottish Highers, roughly comparable to the general minimum overall grade of 60%
Beyond academic grades, ESP admission includes a mandatory selection day with an interview about the profession, motivation, study skills and attitude, plus a written exam covering anatomy, biomechanics or physiology, and all international diplomas undergo credential evaluation by the admissions office.
