Program Overview

The area of Warmia and Mazury is one of the largest military open-air museums in Poland. Numerous museums, castles (Malbork, Olsztyn, Dzia dowo, Nidzica), as well as fortifications from various historical periods make this region ideal for field studies and military tourism. The interest in the history of the army is visible in the involvement of young people in numerous staging and reconstruction projects, incl. related to the Battle of Grunwald or the period of the Napoleonic Wars as well as World War I and II. Local government institutions, museums and cultural centers pay more and more attention to the military history of their region, treating it as an excellent promotional value. The Polish Army and the Border Guard in the area of today's northern Poland are also among the largest employers
