BSc Chemistry with Chemical Engineering

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of the Witwatersrand

Program Overview

Chemical engineers combine the disciplines of Chemistry and Physics, expressed in mathematical language, with concepts such as course operations and reaction kinetics, to develop industrial chemical processes. As a chemical engineer, you will build on the findings of the research chemist, who works with small amounts of materials in the laboratory. You will be concerned with the design, construction, operation, and marketing of equipment that can reproduce the processes or products developed by chemists on a large scale.
