This course introduces and examines the cultural, political, and ethical aspects of a number of important social issues in contemporary society. Issues to be considered include the following: animal rights, environmentalism, genetic engineering, human cloning, euthanasia, conscription, censorship, and the role of the media in shaping public opinion.
