Applicants must submit a complete online application through the SLU-Madrid Application Portal or the Common Application. First-year applicants must submit a 500-word personal essay, official high school transcripts or academic records, and proof of graduation/final transcript if they have already completed high school.
Non-native English speakers who have not studied all four years in a U.S. high school must provide evidence of English language proficiency. SLU-Madrid accepts several English proficiency options, including TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Cambridge, SAT, ACT, AP and IB English qualifications, depending on the score.
Acceptable HiSET exam score or General Education Development (GED) test
SAT/ACT scores are optional for students studying in the U.S. education system. Optional materials that may be submitted for consideration include letters of recommendation, a CV/résumé and an admission interview.

For continuation in the Environmental Studies program, students must have at least a 2.0 GPA in their major courses and required related credits by the end of freshman year.
