BA Theatre (Theatre History and Theory)

Sub-Department of Theatre History and Theory which requires a special talent examination for entry is one of the three majors of Drama Department. The department which provides training for theatre history and theory follows a syllabus which focuses on both from the ancient Greek drama to the contemporary one and from traditional Turkish drama to the contemporary one. In order to students' correct interpretation by comprehending the history, the lectures are supported by minor disciplines and are given insight into the fields such as philosophy, psychology and history by using the course contents. The syllabus is enriched with both the common lectures in Sub-Department of Theatrical Writing and the selected lectures from other departments. Senior students write a graduation thesis by using their knowledge during the theoretical and practical training process.
