Program Overview

Biomedical engineering is a multidisciplinary field of engineering, which develops devices and solutions for diagnosis, therapeutic and regenerative purposes targeted to health sector by applying engineering principles to biology and medicine. Biomedical engineering has a close cooperation with the world of medicine and is supported by the scientific areas such as electrics and electronics, computers, mechanics, materials and genetics. Examples of applications of biomedical engineering: the development of medical imaging systems and software, the development of devices for the measurement and analysis of biological signals, improving the clinical diagnosis and treatment apparatus, biocompatible materials (implants) production, regenerative tissue formation, development of personalized therapies, production of pharmaceuticals and therapeutic biologicals.
