Program Overview

Ankara University is the first university in Turkey providing an Energy Engineering undergraduate program. The program is taught in 100% English. The department, being founded in 2017, is located in the 50th Year campus of Ankara University. The program admits 20 Turkish citizens and 10 foreign students at most which is equivalent to a total student quota of 30 students. The program is suitable for academic developments since it is based on interdisciplinary collaborations. We strongly believe that the establishment of the department is important and beneficial since it is an integration of fundamental sciences (physics, chemistry and maths) and engineering programmes (Chemical Engineering, Electrical-Electronical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering). The major fields of research include renewable energy technologies, design of energy production systems/units and their modications and improvements, energy storage and design of energy materials. Our mission is to raise students with international level of success who will find positions in public and private sectors regarding the following areas; energy production and planning, energy services, energy efficiency, alternative energy resources, research and development, selection, improvement and utilisation of appropriate energy materials. Our vision is to become one of the unique engineering departments in Turkey providing world class infrastructure of education and research.
