Program Overview

The main goal of Translation and Interpreting (English) Programme is to train and raise experts, who are enthusiastic about learning and researching, who keep up with current issues and cultural relations, who have comprehensive knowledge regarding to expectations and conditions of translation profession , and who present her/his knowledge related to translation and interpreting through scientific methods and latest technological developments. Over the course of programme, the students will be offered various and comprehensive opportunities, such as obtaining extensive competence and proficiency over translation studies, gaining wide knowledge regarding to culture and institutions of two languages and also to theoretical and critical approach towards translation studies.

Additional Information & Requirements

Minimum of 240 ECTS credits. The student must have a Minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no F1 or F2 grades. At least 6 of the 9 electives a student is required to take must have an MTI course code. compulsory Introduction to University Life course, the Computer Literacy course and one compulsory elective course offered by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Official high school transcripts, 2 Letters of recommendation, Statement of purpose, Copy of valid Passport, Registration Letter, Health Certificate, Foreign Nationals Exam that is given by Ba kent University and the ones accepted by Ba kent, GCE General Certificate Education, Cambridge International A Level, SAT CR+CW+M: minimum score of 1000 out of 1600 writing included, International Baccalaureate:At least 24 diploma score out of 45, International science olympaids: Having a gold, silver or bronze medal from the International Science Olympiads recognized by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, West African examination council:Minimum 3 subjects in the related area of the applied program for 5 subjects with at least 25 points in total
