The Department of French Language and Literature, aims to teach French in various dimensions such as literature , language and culture and to develop students' oral and written expression skills. Another goal of this programme is to provide to students with a through knowledge of the French Language which is widely used all over the world as well as providing them with a detailed survey and analysis of French Literature and Culture from Medieval times to the present. It also offers courses in Francophone Literature, literary theories and criticism and linguistics.
