BA Spanish Language and Literature

The establishment decision of Ankara University Faculty of Language, History and Geography Department of Spanish Language and Literature was taken in 1975 and the education of our department was started in 1976. The founding chairman of our department is Prof.Dr. Muzaffer Arikan. Then, respectively Prof. Dr. Cemil G ker, Prof. Dr. S heyla ncel and Prof. Dr. Y ld z Ersoy Canpolat have presided our department. With the presidency of Prof. Dr. Ertu rul nalp (December of 2001 - December of 2012) one of our graduate firstly became the president of our department. Current president of our department is Prof. Dr. Mehmet Necati Kutlu. Eight professors with PhD work in Department of Spanish Language and Literature. In addition, two Research Assistants and 3 Foreign Instructors are also involved. The education period of our department is five years with one year obligatory preparatory class. Preparatory education is given by Ankara University School of Foreign Languages . The aim of the program is to teach the Spanish language, both written and oral, to introduce history, culture and literatures of Spain and Spanish-speaking Latin American countries, to examine the authors and works of these literatures. Master and doctorate studies in progress since 1988, graduate student quota of our department is 30 students and accepts students with the LANG-2 points.
