The Department of History is one of the most active centres for teaching and historical research in Turkey. The mission of the department is to facilitate research, from a comparative perspective, on all periods of the Turkish History within the context of global history using modern methods and techniques. Members of the Department are also engaged in a wide range of research fields, stretching from late antiquity to the late twentieth century.
