Today, ongoing changes in the health sector such as changes in the delivery policies, payment systems, insurance systems demand individuals with advanced skills to manage and direct in health care facilities. Thus, the leaders of the health facilities need and advanced level of understanding of the financing, managing, and changing reimbursement processes, and of the future national policy goals and their legal implications for the health care system. In order to meet the demand of highly qualified health sector administrators, the Department of Health Care Management was established in the academic year 1996-1997 within Baskent University. The graduates of the program gain a solid foundation of knowledge regarding the health care industry combined with the discipline to apply that knowledge to advance the health of the community and gain a strong foreign language skill. In addition, students can catch opportunities from other departments as side branch or double branch education. Side and double branch oppurtunites come from Faculty of Law, department of international relations, department of management, department of economics, department of phscology, department of social work. At the end of the side branch education, students will have sertificate from related department and at the end of the double branch education, students will have diplomas from related department.
